The Bronx Mental Health Redevelopment project, owned by the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) is the latest to come out of the door with specific Building Information Modeling (BIM) requirements.

The BIM requirements, outlined in one of the appendices, go into great length detailing how 3D BIM coordination should be carried out by the General Contractor and the trades. An unofficial survey conducted during the pre-bid meeting found that nearly 90% of contractors and their sub contractors present in the room do not possess the required skills and experience in-house to comply with the 3D BIM coordination requirements.
